Finally!!

I've struggled with my weight ever since I was 10 and had to take large doses of prednisone to control my asthma. I lost 17 pounds with Weight Watchers a few years ago, but those pounds crept back on and invited a few of their friends to join them. My husband and I have been walking 2 miles at least three times a week since the beginning of the summer. With the arrival of the cooler weather, we've been out nearly every day. He's lost 14 pounds. I know I've lost inches and I'm waaay more physically fit because I can talk all the way up the long hill on our route, but the scale wasn't budging much. Until today when I finally saw a 9 as the last digit (and by the way, the scale is from Google Images and doesn't represent my weight. Not even close, thank goodness!). I had promised myself a new cross stitch project when I reached this milestone. I'm thinking Quakers and Quilts, Bent Creek's Teacher Row or La-D-Da's Act Justly. I'll let you know.

  1. Congrats! I too have been challenging myself to shed some poundage - three kids can do much to wreck a figure! I guess the fact that I have a huge sweet-tooth doesn't help much either! Keep up the good work!

  2. Susan - I'm so happy for you - I also want to start walking - I've made the first step by buying New Balance shoes which actually were fitted to my wide (didn't know I was wide) feet. Unfortunately the temps are record highs here still and the heat index has been over 100 every day this week - not the time to embark on a walking regiment but I'll get started soon.

I vote for Quilts and Quakers - A friend just bought that and ordered the Valdani threads for it - very pretty piece - You deserve it !

  3. Good for you!!!! You should definitely reward yourself! I'll be waiting to hear which project you choose.

  4. Way to go! I know how hard it is to get those pounds off! A reward is definitely in order and I can't wait to see what you pick out.

  6. Awesome result. Take it easy with your lungs, though. I have asthma too, and if I rush too much around, my lungs sure remind me to slow down the pace.
