Out with the Old, In with the New

The last few hours of 2014 were spent in reverse stitching on two projects.

I made an error when stitching the border of the March house in the Blackbird Designs Anniversaries of the Heart* series.  I decided I couldn't fudge it so I had to rip out part of the house and start again.

Then I got out this ornament to stitch while we watched television last night.  I had started it earlier in the year using Impressions for the white.  The Impressions wasn't covering well and looked more like cream.  So that came out and I put in a few new stitches with DMC perle cotton.  I'm going to like this much better!  This will be a travel project.

All of that reverse stitching led to a very full ort jar.  These threads will go out for the birds today.

2015 will be welcomed with a new project.  I'm going to be starting Susan Rambo* which was published in Fine Lines many, many years ago.  It has since been released as a chart and my eye has been drawn to it several times in stories.  One of the members of my sampler guild has completed this sampler and it's lovely. Kris, from the duClay EGA, has offered her encouragement for getting this one stitched  And really, don't you think it's time I did a sampler with my name in it?

Wishing all of my readers a very happy 2015 with lots of stitching time!

  1. I hate frogging. What a bummer that you had to do that, but at least it's done now. I love Susan Rambo! But she was in SANQ, wasn't she? She is a beauty! Happy New Year!

  3. I love the idea of your ort jar. I'm not a stitcher, so that's new to me. Plus it's so pretty to look at while filling up. Happy New Year!

  5. You will love Susan Rambo, kris' is gorgeous , such beautiful colors. Glad to have you with us in the Challange again, you did so well last year. I bombed and didn't finish a single thing on my list but finishing those 2 big rugs made me happy enough. Cheers and happy new year!! Mel

  6. I'm not a fan of frogging either but sometimes it's just the easiest path. It seems like if I don't, I'm constantly making adjustments and that simply isn't fun.

Susan Rambo is such a lovely sampler. I remember Kris wondering a bit about the color when she wasn't very far into but it really really is beautiful. Hers came out so nice! I'm sure yours will too. Love the fabric you've selected.

  7. lol Susan, you know you could put your name on every sampler ;-)

Mind you I might have to be annoyed with you since I've just gone to look up pictures of Susan Rambo and she's awfully nice. Don't you go making me need more stash! Especially since you reminded me how much I want to stitch Anniversaries too. Sigh. You are such a bad influence!

    Happy New Year!
